Grace Presbyterian Church is a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA): https://www.pcusa.org/
We are Presbyterian in our governance (click here for leadership and staff information) and Reformed Protestants in our beliefs, which means we share beliefs with many other denominations. For more details about our history and beliefs, click here: https://www.presbyterianmission.org/what-we-believe/
We are a member of Arkansas Presbytery: https://presbyark.org/ and the Synod of the Sun: https://www.synodsun.org/
Briefly, we believe in the Triune God: God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We believe the grace of God, through Jesus Christ, gifted by the Holy Spirit, comes not through what we do or whether we're good enough or have earned enough, but through faith alone.
We respond to the grace shown to us with gratitude, with giving, and with service. We do this as a church, together, and we do this, individually, in our lives as Christians.
We are people of the Spirit, and so we care about the things of the Spirit, and we come from a God who created humankind, and follow a Savior who lived a human life, and so we care about our physical lives, too. In our church community, and in our mission to the community around us, we are invested in those things which will tend to the spirit and tend to physical needs. We, therefore, support public education in our communities, and Christian Education in our church building. We work to feed the hungry in body, and the hungry in spirit. We support all means through which God tends our bodies, minds, and spirits: going to doctors, taking medication, visiting therapists, and all other ways through which we experience healing. We believe scientists, we respect medicine, and we support educators. We are committed to our edification as a church of Jesus Christ, and to the building up of our neighbors in Little Rock.
Worshipping God, as the body of Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is the most important thing we do. Everything else we do springs from that weekly renewal, to strengthen us for our daily lives, our work, our family time, our relationships, and our mission.
In our worship, Presbyterians practice two sacraments: baptism and communion, which we also call The Lord's Supper. Baptism in our congregation is open to infants, as well as children and adults. To learn about being baptized, please contact our leadership: Leadership
We encourage folks to be a part of communion, the Lord's Supper, with prayer and consideration, and we encourage those partaking to be baptized. However, we will not prevent anyone who wants to partake of the bread and cup from joining with us in that sacrament. Our sacraments are communal, and bind us to one another and to the real, spiritual presence of Jesus Christ.
Our congregation, and our leadership--both informal and ordained--are open to all people who trust in Jesus Christ. There is no barrier based on gender, sex, race, age, self-expression or identity. We want you with us, and you are deeply welcomed here. We celebrate you for you who are, and for being with us as a congregation!
